The Shaori youth camp has been opened for a number of activities under eight different categories. This year the camp is supposed to host up to 800 young people.
It should be mentioned specifically that the participants were selected through an open competition, and young people living in the region won the opportunity to participate in the camp.
The acting Head of Youth Agency Vakhtang Baakashvili addressed the participants of the Shaori camp and wished them interesting, creatively diverse days. Siimilallry the head of the Department of Youth Affairs of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth Nika Chkhartishvili, and Deputy Head of the Youth Agency Anzor Megrelishvili also took part in the opening event of the camp.
The camp program will last five days. During this time young people will have the opportunity to engage in educational, sports, and cognitive activities and meetings aimed at developing key competencies.
The main goals of the camp are to increase access to active recreation for young people, social integration of young people, the manifestation of their physical and intellectual potential, a healthy lifestyle, the establishment of national and European values and the encouragement of patriotic values as well.
It is worth noting that the activities provided by the camp program will be carried out through the implementation of the informal education methodology and taking into account the objective of youth activities. At the same time within the camp’s framework, trainings will be held for young people on various topics.
On this occasion the employees of the National Bank and the Central Election Commission will conduct training for the participants. Also guest speakers, famous people like politicians, athletes, artists, etc will hold meetings with young people.
It should be noted that 160 selected young people were given leadership training before the opening of the camps. They got acquainted with the principle of operation of the camps and a variety of programs that correspond to the interests of the camp participants.
The best youth leaders selected after the training will be employed in Shaori and Anaklia summer camps. About 250 leaders are employed in youth camps every year.
