Giorgi Amilakhvari the Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia inspected the newly rehabilitated schools of the Akhaltsikhe and Adigeni Municipalities. The minister was accompanied by Shalva Papuashvili the chairman of the Parliament of Georgia.
At the same time Anton Obolashvili, the Majority Deputy of Samtskhe-Javakheti was present during the inspection of newly rehabilitated schools in Akhaltsikhe and Adigeni municipalities.
During their recent visit the members of the government and legislative authorities were in the 5th public school of Akhaltsikhe, where the rehabilitation works are nearing completion. After complete rehabilitation the building will be fully able to accommodate the maximum number of students.
It is worth noting that the building of the 5th public school of Akhaltsikhe has been designed for 600 students. The school will have science and computer laboratories, library, resource room, doctor’s office, a canteen and sports facilities.
The building will be fully adapted for people with disabilities, which will provide better opportunities for students with special needs. The total contractual value of the infrastructure project is 4,590,168.14 GEL.
The minister, the chairman of the parliament and the state representative also visited the first public school in the village of Udi in the Samtskhe-Javakheti area and got acquainted with the current situation on the construction site.
The first public school of the village of Udi will also have science and computer laboratories, library, resource room, a doctor’s office, sports and assembly halls for better educational facilities. An outdoor sports field is also being rehabilitated here.
This school will also be fully adapted for people with disabilities. The building is designed for 600 students and the contractual value of the project is 6,774,164.94 GEL.
After the successful completion of the project, the students of the 5th Akhaltsikhe and the 1st public schools of the village of Udi will be able to acquire world-class educational facilities for the next academic session of 2024-2025.
It is worth noting that the Educational and Scientific Infrastructure Development Agency of the State Educational and Scientific Infrastructure is executing the rehabilitation works of both schools.
