Tbilisi: Irakli Chikovan, minister of defence has attended the annual event of “wounded warriors support Fund”. The minister apprised attendee about the various help Georgia.
The Irakli Chikovan spoke about the support given to wounded soldiers and measure for their rehabilitation program which are being supported by the ministry of defence and the foundation.
At the same time minister also urged the society to participate in a worthy cause. He said this is our collective responsibility.Irakli Chikovani,“These people are the examples of how not to break down, how to serve the country and set an example for the new generations who are joining the Defence Forces. We call these people “invincible” in the big family of Georgian defence forces.”
It is worth to note that “Wounded Warriors Support Fund” has been functioning under the patronage of “Silknet” company since 2018. Its main goal is to care for wounded military personnel and veterans who served country in various combat or international missions.
Along with the Defence Forces, the foundation provides wounded warriors with medical services, research, reproduction, various medical disciplines, higher education and vocational training courses with funding.
Chairman of the “Silk net” Supervisory Board Giorgi Ramishvili, General Director of the Foundation David Mamulaishvili, NATO Military Allied Officer, Colonel Berat Teli and Director of the State Service of Veterans Affairs, Major General Koba Kobaladze spoke at the charity event.
On the other hand during a charity event, deputy minister of defence Gela Geladze and Foundation General Director David Mamulaishvili signed a memorandum, which provides for mutual cooperation and co-financing on a parietal basis, to support wounded soldiers and their families.
The event was attended by deputy Minister of defence, commanders of the defence, Major-General Giorgi Matiashvili, wounded military personnel, veterans, leader of the NATO-Georgian essential package main group Aemal Bahaduri, representatives of diplomatic corps accredited in Georgia, ambassadors and military attaches, business and society representatives.
