Muslim Borchashvili a 15-year young student shares his success story. He won the national award for best volunteer of year 2024.

He while sharing his story said that “For me, receiving the National Award for the Best Volunteer of the Year 2024 is a great honour and responsibility. This is not only a recognition of past achievements, but also an incentive not to stop doing good deeds in the future.”

Moreover, he said the victory taught me that every small thing is important, and that young people can really make a difference. I would like to emphasize that above any award is the gratitude of people and this award is especially meaningful for this reason.

Muslim Borchashvili belongs to the village of Duisi, Akhmeta Municipality, Pankisi Gorge. He is a student at the LEPL Akhmeta Municipality’s Duisi Village Public School.

Muslim’s volunteer work aimed to integrate non-formal education into formal education and to support young people and the older generation. He volunteered in projects that ensured both social equality and the development of young people’s skills. Muslim prefers volunteer projects that specifically help young people, children living in rural areas, to receive non-formal education.

Muslim currently volunteers as the head of the Pankisi American Shelf Youth Centre, where he helps youth and representatives of different age groups develop critical thinking, communication and use of technology, establish and improve cooperation with international organizations and local self-government, media. Muslim has also volunteered in organizations that serve people with disabilities, work on women’s empowerment, etc.

Muslim holds a volunteer position as the chairman of the Self-Government and Civic Education Club at Duisi Public School; he is also engaged in volunteer activities.
