Gogita Todradze, the executive director of gestate is attending the 56th session of the United Nations Statistical Commission. This important session is being held in New York, USA.
The annual meeting is attended by heads of statistical offices of UN member states and representatives of international organizations. They are discussing multiple challenges being faced by the respective bodies of their countries.
The United Nations Statistical Commission is the highest-level intergovernmental format and the highest decision-making body on statistical activities at the international level, which oversees the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD).
It is worth to note that during the visit, Gogita Todradze will address the members of the Commission with a report and participate in various panel discussions. She will present information to the audience about the recent changes and progress made in the Georgian statistical system.
A special attention will be paid to the 2024 population and agricultural census. In addition, he will discuss the challenges in various areas, outline future and priorities.
It is also to be note that in parallel with the session, the Executive Director of geostat has scheduled official meetings with the heads of statistical services of various international organizations and partner countries.
