Batumi, Georgia: Batumi hosts an event of the Ministry of Internal Affairs related to the opening of the maritime tourist season. The exciting and prestigious event was held on June 21, 2025, Friday.

The event was attended by the Chairman of the Adjara Government Sulkhan Tamazashvili together with the Minister of Internal Affairs, Geka Geladze.
The chairman of the government addressed the meetings and noted that a successful tourist season is expected in Adjara. According to him, the number of visitors to the region and tourism revenues are increasing, which will provide economic growth in terms of stability and a peaceful environment.
Chairman Tamazashvili stated, “Adjara is meeting the maritime tourist season with renewed tourist products and services. Step by step we will open many more new tourist sites. In addition to this, the protection of public order and health is of most importance.”
He also expressed his warm gratitude towards the Ministry of Internal Affairs for ensuring that the police and rescue services are operating especially throughout the tourism season to ensure the safety of both residents and visitors.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs met the summer season with renewed technology and equipment. Relevant departments of Adjara are fully mobilized to provide a safe tourist environment for locals and visitors. During the event, the Minister of Interior awarded six employees of the Emergency Management Service with the Medal of the Ministry of Interior – “Bravery”.
The event was also attended by Davit Gabaidze, the Chairman of the Adjara High Council, members of the Government and the High Council, the members of the Parliament of Georgia, and the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs.
