Georgia: The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Solomon Pavliashvili, met with farmers producing berry crops. The fruitful meeting was held on Saturday, July 19, 2025.
The LEPL State Laboratory of Agriculture of Georgia shared glimpses of the meeting on its official Facebook page. A small note about the meeting was also shared along with its photographs.
According to the small note shared by the State Laboratory of Georgia, it should be noted that the participants in the working meeting with farmers of berry crops in Kutaisi discussed challenges in the sector and laboratory diagnostics needs.
Notably, attention was focused on the timely detection of diseases and the importance of access to reliable laboratory services. Specialists from the State Laboratory of Agriculture presented to farmers on the diagnostic possibilities of blueberries. Farmers received detailed information about diseases, soil, water, and diagnosis possibilities of berry crops.
The Minister Solomon Pavilaiashvili stated, “Our goal is to let farmers have access to timely and reliable laboratory services.” It is important that at the seedling stage, we start creating high-quality products that will be in demand in both local and international markets. Laboratory diagnosis plays a crucial role in this process.”
According to him, the State Laboratory of Agriculture is ready to conduct timely research and help farmers in the production of competitive products.
The meeting held in Kutaisi was attended by farmers producing berries in the Imereti region who had the opportunity to ask questions, share practical experiences, and get detailed information on topics important to them.
Irakli Guledani, Director of the State Laboratory for Agriculture, Director of the Imereti State Envoy Mamuka Khimshiashvili, Representatives of the National Food Agency and the Rural Development Agency of Imereti Region, participated in the event.
