Georgia: The Minister of Defense of Georgia attended the event dedicated to the Establishment of Territorial Defense Brigades on September 22, 2025. The event marked an important milestone in strengthening Georgia’s reserve system and enhancing national security.
The Minister of Defense of Georgia, Irakli Chikovani, congratulated the personnel of the 10th and 20th Brigades of the National Guard on the day of the establishment of subdivisions.
The anniversary was celebrated in Telavi at the military base of the 20th Territorial Defense Brigade. A ceremonial ceremony of taking the oath was held within the event.

According to the short note shared by the Georgian Defense Ministry, a new personnel member has been added to the 20th Territorial Defense Brigade. Members of the brigade took a military oath before God and the nation.
Irakli Chikovani noted in his speech that the territorial defense brigades of the National Guard are one of the important components of the new reserve system in protecting Georgia’s security. He congratulated reservists on taking the oath and thanked Georgia for their service. Head of the Georgian Defense Forces, Lieutenant General Giorgi Matiashvili, and Head of the National Guard, Brigade General Roman Jokhadze, addressed the personal team of the brigades.
At the event, a minute of silence was observed in the struggle for Georgian territorial integrity, peace missions, and the memory of those who died in duty.
At the end of the event, an award ceremony was held. Successful Guards were awarded with outstanding medals of the Ministry of Defense – “Dedicated to the homeland” and “Giorgi Ancukhelidze”. Military personnel were given chest badges – “Worthy Guard”, certificates, and valuable gifts.
