Basseterre, St. Kitts and Nevis: The Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis received the MIPAD 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award at the close of the MIPAD Recognition Weekend on Friday, 26 September, 2025 in New York.
It should be noted that the date of the event was 25-27 September 2025 and coincided with the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly. At the awards event, leaders of local African diaspora community are recognized in various domains.
The Prime Minister Drew, after capturing the award gave a thank-you speech at the same function where he expressed his sincere appreciation to the country.
According to his post on X (Formerly known as Twitter), it was noted that the award does not belong to him alone but to the people of St. Kitts and Nevis. “This award is not mine alone; it belongs to the people of St. Kitts and Nevis, whose resilience, vision, and unwavering spirit continue to shape our journey as part of the global African family,” he noted.
According to him, the Lifetime Achievement Award is given to only a handful of leaders whose impact is felt beyond national borders and whose positive influence changes lives across the globe. With this award, St. Kitts and Nevis also earned the right to be acknowledged as one of the many nations whose contributions to the world are to be celebrated.
The Prime Minister, Terrance Drew, closed his speech by dedicating the award to the people of the Federation and reaffirming his government’s commitment to building a stronger, more inclusive, and successful future for all.
