Zugdidi Municipality, Georgia: In Zugdidi, for the purpose of housing displaced families, 7 multi-storey buildings are being built, where more than 1700 displaced families will receive apartments.
The Minister of Refugees, Labor, Health, and Social Protection of Georgia, Mikheil Sarjveladze, together with representatives of local and parliamentary governments, got acquainted with the construction of a large-scale complex.
The Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons, Labor, Health, and Social Welfare of Georgia shared the glimpses of the meeting on its Official Facebook Page on September 29, 2025, Monday. The Georgian Health Ministry also shared a small note about the ongoing construction, along with its glimpses.
According to the small note shared by the Ministry, it should be noted that during the meeting, the Georgian Health Minister gave a speech in which he appreciated the workers and labourers who are involved in the ongoing construction process.
In his remarks, the Minister stressed that this project is part of a larger nationwide housing program. He noted that more than 7,000 displaced families across Georgia will benefit from new or renovated apartments in the coming years, showing the government’s long-term vision for social integration and stability.
According to Mikheil Sarjveladze, the construction of residential buildings for forcefully displaced families, meeting modern standards, is not just an infrastructure project – it is a commitment of the State, an important step towards creating decent living conditions. According to the Minister, with such large-scale initiatives, the government is really changing the future of thousands of families.
The project is implemented by the company “Anagi”, and the construction budget is more than 191,000,000 GEL. In order to improve the living conditions of forcibly displaced families, the construction of new buildings is being carried out simultaneously in four cities in Georgia.
This month, in Kutaisi, a residential complex built with modern standards, more than 850 displaced families have already been given completely renovated, new apartments.
