The electric car charger installed in the area of the Tbilisi Concert Hall, which was installed by the company “Mativi”, was inspected today by the mayor of Tbilisi. Vice-Mayor Giorgi Tkemaladze and Head of Transport and Urban Development Agency Nino Bagashvili were present with him.
Kakha Kaladze thanked the company for its cooperation. In addition, he emphasized once again the important measures that the municipality is taking to improve the ecological situation in the capital.
The Tbilisi Mayor noted, “Encouragement of electric cars is a very important direction for us. Their owners have a lot of benefits, free customization, and free parking in the city.” “Regarding electric chargers, we had announced a tender in February for the installation of fast chargers,” he added.
According to him, there were three lots, and we have two winning companies. Among them, the company “Simple” won in two lots. Checking out one of the chargers they installed today.
Kakha Kaladze mentioned, “According to the terms of the tender, the company has the responsibility to install 130 electric chargers, and more than half of them have already been installed in different areas. Very easy to use after downloading a mobile app.”
He noted,” We have specific places in the capital where fast chargers are installed. Also, we have arranged parking spaces specifically for electric cars, where you can park and charge for free.”
In general, you know that the municipality pays special attention to improving the ecological situation in the city. We are doing our best to have clean air, enforce a range of construction regulations, and renew public transport that pollutes the environment with its emissions. Today, environmentally friendly buses and minibuses serve the population of Tbilisi”, Kakha Kaladze noted.
Setting up a network of electric car chargers in Tbilisi aims to create an eco-friendly and modern transportation standard.
In February 2025, in the framework of the auction held by the Municipality of Tbilisi, 198 electric car fast charging stations are planned to be installed in the capital.
