The Minister of Finance of Georgia, Lasha Khutsishvili, introduced the new head of the Country’s Ministry of Finance, Levan Kharabadze, to the employees of the agency. Until now, he has held the position of Deputy Chief of the State Security Service.
The Ministry of Finance of Georgia shared the glimpses of the introduction meeting on its official Facebook page on May 1, 2026, Friday. The Georgian Ministry also shared a small note about the meeting, along with its glimpses.
The former head of the service, Mikheil Maghlakelidze, and heads of structural units of the investigation service attended the meeting held in the investigation service.
The Georgian Minister of Finance, Lasha Khutsishvili, congratulated Levan Kharabadze on his appointment as head of the agency and wished him success in his work.
The minister noted that the new head has many years of experience in law enforcement agencies and is well familiar with the specifics of the investigative service. He expressed hope that under the leadership of Kharabadze, the prevention and exposure of financial-economic crimes will continue actively.
Levan Kharabadze thanked the minister for his trust and support. He emphasized the professionalism and high responsibility of the agency’s employees and noted that the service will continue to perform its duties efficiently.
The minister thanked Mikheil Maghlakelidze, the former head of the investigation service, for his work and noted that, under his leadership, the efficiency and material-technical capabilities of the agency have significantly improved. He also expressed hope that the coordination between the institutions in the Ministry of Finance will continue in the future.
In his turn, Mikheil Maghlakelidze thanked the staff of the investigation service for their support and wished the new leader success.
