With the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth, in order to develop educational infrastructure in the Kakheti region, construction and rehabilitation works continue.
Georgian Minister of Education, Science and Youth Givi Mikanadze got acquainted with the construction of a culinary college in Gurjaani and visited the old educational building of the college “Prestige” in Kskalto, where the complete rehabilitation will begin in the near future.
The minister also inspected the rehabilitated gym of Telavi State University named after Yakob Gogebashvili. State Trustee Platon Kalmakhelidze, Member of Parliament Gia Benashvili, and local government representatives were present with Givi Mikanadze in Kakheti.
Gurjaani Culinary College has 200 students. The project means 21,600 sq.m. Construction of a professional college according to the latest standards in a metropolitan area. Theoretical learning auditoriums, conference and demonstration halls, restaurants, kitchens, refrigerators, and storage areas will be set up on site. The building will be fully adapted to people with special needs and will be equipped with all necessary inventory and state-of-the-art equipment. On the campus of the college, a gym and a recreational space will also be provided.
College students will have the opportunity to explore bakery and confectionery, food and beverage management, gastronomic and avant-garde trends, creative approaches, and food design.
The construction of the vocational college in Gurjaani is carried out with the support of the Georgian Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth, and in partnership with the Basket Culinary School. Its value is up to 17 million GEL.
Regarding the Prestige branch, it will be considered for 100-150 students and audience in terms of qualification and training programs.
As a result of the implementation of the project, a modern vocational education hub will be created in the municipality, where training and training programs in the field of tourism will be implemented, the need for which is particularly relevant in the region. At the same time, employment and self-employment opportunities will increase significantly. The estimated cost of the project is up to 7 million GEL.
