In the Vazisubani settlement, the square named after Dr. Zurab Begiashvili, who died in the war of 2008, was rehabilitated. The Isani district board carried out the works.
The Mayor of the capital city, Tbilisi, Kakha Kaladze, visited the construction site and got acquainted with the works that have been completed, along with the deputy mayor, Irakli Bendeliani.
The Tbilisi City Hall shared the glimpses of the mayor’s visit to the site on its Official Facebook Page on May 28, 2026, Thursday. The City Hall also shared a small note about the works along with its glimpses.
The project included recreation areas and a bike path, children’s entertainment attractions, garden infrastructure, and a lighting network with LED lights.
The mayor of Tbilisi talked about the completed works. He noted, “In Isnis district, the local council has rehabilitated the square named after Zurab Begiashvili.”
According to him, Phase 1 of the works is complete, including footpaths, leisure pavilions, and children’s attractions installed. Also, the business zone on the territory will be renewed. The next stage of the project will be the complete arrangement of the church premises.
“We are talking about one hectare, where recreation space will be arranged. The existence of such areas in every district is very important. “Wherever there is a possibility, the municipality will carry out the appropriate works step by step,” said Kakha Kaladze.
In addition, the area was decorated with decorative tiles, the existing greenery was carried out, and a memorial plaque named after Zurab Begiashvili was placed.
Akaki Khlabustov, ISN’s spokesman, and Beka Menteshashvili, the district’s majority deputy, were present with the mayor of the capital. The project was funded by 510,000 GEL from the budget of the Board.
