Georgian Minister of Education, Science and Youth Givi Mikanadze met with heads of educational resource centers. The Minister thanked the meeting participants for their daily work and highlighted the outstanding role of educational resource centers in improving the school learning environment.
Givi Mikanadze spoke about the main directions of large-scale reforms in the education system. He said the main goal of the general education reform is to create an education system that will enable every student to receive quality education and develop the skills they need in the modern world.
The conversation touched on improving the quality of teaching, updating the national curriculum, supporting teachers’ professional development, creating a modern educational environment, strengthening inclusive education, and ensuring access to quality textbooks and digital educational resources. The meeting also discussed issues related to school forms and new textbooks.
The meeting was held in an interactive format. Heads of Resource Centres, together with the Minister, discussed planned changes, plans, and challenges in the regions and solutions.
The meeting with representatives of the resource centres was held with the support of the World Bank I2Q project.
It was noted that the partnership established between the Ministry and the World Bank contributes to the implementation of the Ministry’s strategic goals and the effective implementation of the fundamental reforms underway in the education system across the country.
The meeting was attended by Tamar Makharashvili, Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, and representatives of relevant structural units of the Ministry.
