The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, David Songhulashvili, was on a working visit to the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, where he got acquainted with agricultural enterprises created with state support and activities in the protected area.

As per the details provided by the Georgian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, it is worth noting that, according to the Minister, the development of local production contributes to the strengthening of regions and the popularization of Georgian products.
Within the framework of his visit to the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, David Songhulashvili got acquainted with the activities of a poultry farm, greenhouse farming of annual crops, organic strawberries, snail and milk processing enterprises, the tourist and recreational infrastructure in the Tbilisi National Park, and met with local farmers and entrepreneurs.
According to David Songhulashvili, visiting the regions is especially important because they have the opportunity to get to know various producers, their activities, challenges, and development opportunities on the ground. “It is precisely the strengthening of local production that creates a solid foundation for the economic development of municipalities and regions, contributes to improving the quality of Georgian products and increasing their popularization,” he noted.
The Minister also stated, “Along with the enterprises, we had the opportunity to view the infrastructure projects implemented in the protected areas.”
It should be noted that one of their important tasks in this direction is to develop appropriate infrastructure in the protected areas, which will provide appropriate services to visitors.
