Georgia: David Songulashvili, the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture had a visit to the village of Gamarjveba which is in the Gardabani Municipality on Wednesday, May 21. His schedule included Familiarization with the capabilities and work process of the Smart Feed company’s combined feed enterprise.
The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia put up a photo album of the Minister’s visit to the page. Also the Ministry included a description under the posts which received positive response from the public.
Also note that at the event, Deputy Minister and State Representative of Kvemo Kartli Lasha Dolidze and Levan Kharabadze were also present. The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture David Songhulashvili also accompanied them. Both the Ministers also learned the processes of the works in the enterprise.
During the visit, Minister Songulashvili brought up the issue of putting in place state funding for the processing sector. He put forth this as a very important element of their local agricultural production.
According to Minister Songulashvili, the ongoing development of the livestock and poultry sectors and demand for agricultural feed is steadily increasing. This demand must be met by domestic production to the greatest extent possible.
“Expanding local manufacturing generates jobs and contributes to creating homegrown products—forming a solid foundation for strengthening our national economy,” the Minister added.
Smart Feed
Also, worth noting is that Smart Feed specializes in the production of compound feed for livestock and poultry. They also produce a wide variety of feed for farm animals and birds.
Moreover, “Smart Feed” LLC is a beneficiary of the Rural Development Agency within Georgia’s Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture. In 2023, the company invested 1.5 million GEL into setting up a compound feed production facility.
This investment has put in 400,000 GEL which came from the Co-financing Program for Processing and Storage Enterprises. They also funded 700,000 GEL from a preferential agro-credit scheme which is part of a state supported financial program.
