The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, David Songulashvili, got acquainted with the agricultural activities of the company “Lomtagora” and met with wheat farmers in Marneuli municipality.
Along with the Georgian Environment Minister David Songhulashvili, the State Trustee Ilia Jalaghania was also present there.

The Minister, together with the company’s representatives, inspected the agricultural facilities and got acquainted with the ongoing work on wheat production and selection, including the process of testing and development of Georgian wheat varieties.
“There is special importance to both the growth of wheat production, as well as the preservation of Georgian varieties, research and development of new varieties adapted to modern challenges.” Today in “Lomtagora” we have the opportunity to get acquainted with the work on wheat selection and production.
According to him, the experience of such farms and practices is important for increasing local production and strengthening the competitiveness of the Georgian agro sector.
“Our mission is to increase the volume and quality of products produced in the country, to give farmers and agro-entrepreneurs more opportunities for development and, in addition, to strengthen the food security of the country,” said David Songhulashvili.
It is also worth noting that one of the most important directions of “Lomtagora” is wheat selection and testing of new varieties. For this purpose, the company has been conducting selection-demonstration activities and testing modern agro technologies for years.
