Within the framework of the higher education reform, admission of students to certain educational programs at state-based higher educational institutions has been restricted for the 2026–2027 academic year.
In view of these restrictions, students with suspended status are allowed to move to another educational program if they decide not to restore their student status.
The Georgia Education Management Information System posted information on its official Facebook page regarding the adjustments and the modifications made for students with suspended status on August 20, 2026, Thursday.
According to the amendment details shared by the Georgian Education Management Information System, it should be noted that the educational programs and the number of students that the state-based higher educational institutions have the right to receive have been determined for the academic year 2026-2027.
Accordingly, those students whose status has been suspended on such an educational program, to which the university has limited the right to admit students and for this reason refuses to restore the status, are allowed to move in the 2026-2027 academic year. They can continue their studies at another higher education institution, regardless of the length of the study period.
The student must apply to the Education Management Information System in order to utilize their entitlement to mobility. The Education Management Information System guarantees the student’s involvement in the mobility process based on the application, in compliance with the set guidelines and due dates.
For the fall semester of the 2026–2027 academic year, registration on the mobility site will open on August 24 and run through September 8 at 18:00. The Education Management Information System can be reached via email at info@emis.ge or by phone at (+995 32) 2 200 220.
