The chairman of the Adjara Government, Zurab Pataradze, along with the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Adjara, Tsotne Ananidze, and the Minister of Education, Culture and Sport of Adjara, Maia Khajishvili, congratulated the pupils, teachers, and parents of public schools in the region on the start of the new school year.
At the ceremonial events held in Batumi No. 1 and No. 2 and Kobuleti No. 2, the Chairman of the Government focused attention on the ongoing news within the education reform and noted that creating an equal environment in school spaces and modern standards is the main priority of the government.
Zurab Pataradze visited the renovated library in Batumi Public School No. 2 and talked to teachers. At the meeting, Zurab Pataradze noted that at this responsible stage it is equally important to be involved and eager of each of them in the educational process, because the unity and mutual respect of the school community creates a continuous chain of development in our country. The Chairman also noted that the projects started for the construction and rehabilitation of schools will be continued step by step.
It is noteworthy that the historical building of Batumi School No. 2, which has undergone major renovations and is fully equipped to meet modern educational standards, is one of the oldest buildings and cultural heritage monuments in Batumi. For the current academic year, a rehabilitated and renovated library with adequate inventory has been opened in the school, which provides a modern and comfortable educational space for students.
Zurab Pataradze congratulated the pupils and teachers of Batumi Public School No. 1 on the beginning of the school year, and at the celebratory event held at Public School No. 2 in Kobuleti, he noted in his welcoming speech that visiting his home school is particularly exciting and emotional, and with maximum coordination between institutions, it should continue to be equal and unrestricted for children in all municipalities of Adjara, providing opportunities.
5,658 first graders started studying in Adjara schools this year. In the new school year, Batumi has four newly built and two fully rehabilitated modern schools, and in 25 public schools across the region, full or partial rehabilitation works have been carried out.
