The Minister of Justice of Georgia, Paata Salia, met with 189 interns selected in the Ministry of Justice system within the framework of the state program of paid internships initiated by the Prime Minister.
The Ministry of Justice of Georgia shared glimpses of the meeting on its official Facebook Page on October 5, 2026, Monday. The Georgian Justice Ministry also shared a small note about the meeting along with its glimpses.
The Minister congratulated the young people on the successful completion of the competition and noted that an internship is the first important step for them in a professional environment and an opportunity to gain practical experience. He urged the interns to make the most of this period, to take initiative, ask questions, express their opinions, and to be actively involved in the activities of the authorities.
Paata Salia stressed that the Ministry of Justice considers internships not only as an opportunity to acquire professional knowledge and practical skills, but also as an important mechanism for attracting young, skilled personnel to the system. The goal of the Ministry is to make the program an opportunity for further professional development and employment for successful interns.
In 2026, 293 vacancies were announced in the Ministry of Justice and its system’s 12 public law lawyers, of which 6,639 applications were received. 189 interns were selected as a result of the competition.
In 2025, 109 of the 156 interns accepted by the program have extended their internship period, and some of them were employed afterwards.
The internship is for three months, with the prospect of continuing. The program is a paid, and the internship period is counted towards the work experience/internship.
