The Asian Development Bank (ADB) of Georgia congratulated the non-governmental organization (NGO) Women’s Association of Lower Kartli, “Women and the World,” on receiving the CAREC Gender Award.

The Award was given for its work on domestic violence, environmental protection, ethnic group protection, and sexual minority protection.

The Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Program calls for nominations for the CAREC Gender Climate Awards 2024.

The CAREC Gender Climate Awards 2024 aims to recognize individuals and organizations making significant contributions to gender equality in the context of climate change resilience, adaptation, and mitigation within the CAREC region.

The Award aims to promote the work of those who have achieved professional success, are eloquent advocates, or have taken practical steps to address climate change in local communities and national and regional settings.

The CAREC Gender and Climate Award encourages individuals and organizations to make significant contributions to gender equality in the face of climate change.

The CAREC Gender and Climate Award is an initiative of the CAREC program. The CAREC Programme, established in 2001 with the support of the Asian Development Bank, aims to provide regional cooperation between countries and development partners to achieve development goals in Central and West Asia.

Congratulations to the NGO Kvemo Kartli Women’s Association “Woman and the World” from Georgia, which received the CAREC Gender Award for addressing domestic violence, environmental protection, and the rights of ethnic groups and sexual minorities.

The CAREC Gender Climate Awards is an initiative of the broader CAREC Program. It is the second installment of CAREC’s awarding scheme for gender, formerly the CAREC Award for Advancing Gender Equality.

The CAREC Program, launched in 2001 and supported by the ADB, signifies a committed partnership of countries and development partners working collaboratively to foster development through regional cooperation in Central and West Asia.
