A meeting was held recently in the Adigeni Municipality. This was held to discuss the progress of rehabilitation work being executed in the village of Ude.
It is to be specifically mentioned that in connection with the activation of landslide rehablitation processes in the village of Ude which falls under the Adigeni municipality, the progress as well as the results of the ongoing and completed works carried out by the Geology Engineering-Geological Group of the National Environment Agency were discussed.
As mentioned in the conclusion during the meeting the specialists studied the home plots of 24 residents in the disaster zone. Out of which 16 families need to be evacuated.
It is worth noting that the Municipality of Adigeni immediately ensured the transfer of 3 families from the dangerous zone to a safe place, Moreover, the official of the Municipality offered to provide another 3 families with alternative housing at safer places as well, on which negotiations are ongoing with them.
On the other hand the remaining 2 families refuse to leave their house at this stage. Similarly in the remaining 8 houses the families are not there and all of them are closed. The geologists also inspected various locations in the active landslide area and recommendations were made for further work progress.
It is to be added that “There are 8 families closest to the current area of landslide processes although the deformations caused by the newly activated landslide have not been noticed in their houses and homesteads.” The City Hall of Adigeni Municipality will take necessary measures under all recommendations.
The representative of the municipality also said that the the recent problems caused by the natural disaster have caused huge problems for the citizens of the locality. They also expressed hopes that with the active coordination of all the departments and agencies of the municipality the rehabilitation and reconstruction work will be completed very soon as well.
