The Chairman of the Adjara Government, Zurab Pataradze, got acquainted with the sports infrastructure in Batumi and Kobuleti municipalities on July 9, 2026, Thursday.
Zurab Pataradze visited the football base on Angisi and Leonidze streets in Batumi, and the rehabilitated “Chele Arena” in Kobuleti. Also, a working meeting was held with the president of the football club “Dinamo Batumi”, Temur Mikeladze. At the meeting, issues of development of football infrastructure in the region and promoting football among youth were discussed.
In Kobuleti, at “Cele Arena”, the Chairman of the Adjara Government, together with the Chairman of the Supreme Council, Tsotne Ananidze, and the veteran footballer, Revaz Chelebadze, spoke with the young participants of the football tournament “Cele Cup”.
“Important infrastructural works are underway in Kobuleti on “Chele Arena”. Modern outdoor lighting has already been installed, which will allow the stadium to host various levels of championships and sporting events. The internal works are going on at the same time.
Also, we learned about the situation, challenges, and opportunities at Batumi’s football bases. The interest from parents and young people in football is huge, with the number of teams needing adequate infrastructure support growing.
Promoting a healthy lifestyle and sport development is one of our top priorities. We are ready to promote the popularization of football in the region as much as possible,” said Zurab Pataradze.
During the second stage of rehabilitation, light poles have already been installed, drainage has been laid, and fencing and internal repairs are underway. At the first stage of rehabilitation, the artificial coverings on one standard and two training grounds were changed.
In Batumi, there are four football fields on the Angisi football base. Among them, two sports fields are functioning at this stage. Two more fields are planned to be arranged simultaneously. Two football bases on Leonidze Street have more than 400 spectators and already host football matches.
Georgian Parliament Member Gia Chkonia, Minister of Economy of Adjara Ednar Nataridze, Mayor of Batumi Giorgi Tsintsadze, Mayor of Kobuleti Municipality Irakli Tsetskhladze, Head of Adjara Project Management Company Levan Kvantaliani, as well as leaders of Batumi and Kobuleti City Hall and Sakrebulo visited the sports infrastructure.
