Now within the framework of the programs of the Ministry of Agriculture of Adjara and the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia steps are being taken to improve the production of blueberries in Adjara.
Almost eighty people have been employed in the garden planted on 15 hectares. The farmer Rodam Okropirodze expects that if the weather goes normal he will harvest 40 tons of blueberries this year.

This reflected an export amount four times higher than the similar data of last year. In Adjara, blueberries are cultivated on an area of 140 hectares. The Mayor of Kobuleti Levan Zoidze and local government representatives who were present on the occasion also appreciated the farmers’ hard work.
