The Chairman of the Adjara Government, Zurab Pataradze, with his wife, Sophia Bakuridze, met with the students who became scholars of the Adjarian Government.

The event was opened by the Minister of Education and Sports, Maia Khajishvili, and she talked about the programs that the Ministry implements with the support of the government of Adjara.

During the meeting, Zurab Pataradze addressed the young people with a speech, congratulated them on the achieved results, and deserved recognition. Chairman of the Supreme Council Tsotne Ananidze wished success to the students.

The chairman of the Adjara government noted that the support of youth and expansion of educational programs will continue actively in the region. He said it is important to organize thematic meetings and public lectures with the youth to have joint discussions on the country’s development, future visions, and current challenges.

Zurab Pataradze noted, “We had a very fruitful meeting with our students. It’s important to talk to young people about education, the future, and the opportunities that are being created for them. Reforms announced at different stages in the education system aim to create new opportunities for young people.”

They discussed the Ministry’s programs, among them, the most important thing is the Adjara government scholarship program, which he thinks will be an additional incentive for students. Exchange and grant programs will also continue actively, which will create new development opportunities for young people.

“It is particularly noteworthy that tomorrow in schools across our country and region, 12th-grade students will graduate, and most of them will become enrolled. I think today’s event will be a message for them about the importance of learning and determination to achieve real results,” said Zurab Pataradze.

Within the framework of the program of the Ministry of Education of Adjara, the young people who will be born in 2025 will be awarded a scholarship of 1,000 GEL per semester. It should be noted that in 2026, the number of scholarships will be doubled, and a total of 300 students will be funded.
