The Chairman of the Adjara Government, Zurab Pataradze, along with his wife, Sophia Bakuridze, attended the forum on the occasion of International Youth Day.
The forum was opened by the Minister of Education and Sports of Adjara, Maia Khajishvili. He welcomed the participants with a speech and also spoke about the importance of supporting the Regional Youth Center.
The Chairman of the Adjara Government, Zurab Pataradze, and the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the region, Tsotne Ananidze, congratulated the participants of the event on International Youth Day.
The Prime Minister noted that continuous cooperation with young people, their active involvement in decision-making, as well as supporting their ideas and initiatives are an important prerequisite for the development of the region.
According to the Adjara Chairman, young people are the intellectual resource, knowledge, and future of their country; therefore, their active involvement in decision-making and implementation of various projects is critical. “Thematic meetings will continue; we will listen and definitely consider the ideas of our young people regarding different projects and startups,” – said Zurab Pataradze.
At the forum, which was attended by more than 200 young people from six municipalities of Adjara, the head of the Regional Youth Center, Nino Dolidze, presented a presentation about the activities of the center, while the participants of the event presented their views on public policy issues and discussed strengthening the role of young people in the decision-making process.
Events dedicated to the International Youth Day continued with a festival, which will feature a wide range of cognitive and entertaining activities, as well as concerts featuring invited and local artists.
The forum was attended by representatives of the legislative and executive authorities of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, as well as representatives of local governments.
