Kutaisi: On August 12, the Kutaisi University Georgia celebrated International Youth Day. A special program was held to inform the young students about the day’s importance and the University’s courses and careers options.
A significant number of University students participated in the event. At the same time a workshop was also held where students got the opportunity to display their talents through unique projects on a number of topics.
As International Youth Day is celebrated across the world on August 12, every year large-scale events are held to highlight its importance. This year the theme selected by the United Nations is “ From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development.”
Kutaisi University on its social media pages shared glimpses of the event. The official Facebook page states “Kutaisi University celebrated International Youth Day. The Young People of the University have received detailed information about programs and opportunities which are being offered by the University in different streams.”
The Facebook post also stated “The University also organized the Quiz competition on this occasion and students through quizzes, learned the importance of the Youth Day and many interesting facts which they didn’t know early.”
At the same time university students also acquire information on law programs, business administration, economy, tourism, and doctoral diplomas at Kutaisi University. Other university events also give students the opportunity to explore the educational, cognitive, and creative resources of Kutaisi University in specially designated spaces.
The Kutaisi Youth Advisory Council organized the event which included the presentation of symbolic gifts to young people from Kutaisi University at the closing ceremony.
On the event site a special selfie spot was installed where students clicked the groups and individual pictures with their friends. The event organizer said that the youth’s role in the present day is very important for nation-building. The youth also have the potential to lead the nation to new heights with their visions.
The participants’ students said they are very grateful to the organizers, who gave them wonderful opportunities to learn interesting facts about Youth Day.
