Georgia: At the initiative of Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili, in the spring of this year, a large-scale state program for the employment of workers receiving social assistance was launched.
Within the programme, public works were created for target groups, which any qualification can perform.
Within the framework of the employment programme of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture, the Minister of Environment and Agriculture Otar Shamugia and IDPs from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and S Minister of Social Defense Zurab Azarashvili met.
“The main goal of our government is to overcome poverty by creating new jobs. It’s important for hard-working people to realize themselves, to become self-motivated and competitive, said the minister.
The state programme allows citizens to do just that. On the one hand, they realized; on the other hand, their economic conditions had improved, and their income had increased. And more importantly, public service employment does not include cutting off welfare to citizens. They will retain the aid for 4 years. Participating in the program, yes, in addition, they get paid,” said the Minister of Environment and Agriculture, Otar Shamugia.
In the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture offices, 2,160 jobs were created in the National Food and Environment Agencies, Agriculture Laboratory, Protected Areas and National Forestry Agencies in Melioration of Georgia.
For today, 989 people are already employed in various positions, 464 work in National Food and 75 Environment Agencies, 233 people, work in National Forestry Agency, 144 Protected Areas Agency, 9 for Agriculture He is an employee of Laboratory and 71 Georgia Melioration. By the end of this year, additional 1171 citizens will be employed in the ministry system.
Ministers got acquainted with the activities and working conditions of socially vulnerable citizens employed in the protected areas of Ajamet, in the “working yard” of the National Forestry Agency and the fight program against the lighthouse of the National Food Agency.
Meetings with the beneficiaries of the Employment Program in Imereti were attended by State Trustee Zviad Shalamberidze and Majority Deputy of the Georgian Parliament Bezhan Tsakadze.
