The Chairman of the Government of Ajara, Zurab Pataradze, together with the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Ajara, Tsotne Ananidze, and the Minister of Education and Sports of the region, Maia Khajishvili, met with students and teachers participating in the sub-program for supporting the internationalization of vocational education.
At the meeting, the Chairman of the Government spoke about the importance of developing vocational education, sharing international experience, and creating new opportunities for young people.
He noted, “Supporting vocational education is one of our important priorities. We had a meeting with 10 excellent students from vocational colleges operating in the region, who will soon travel to Estonia. They will have the opportunity to get acquainted with modern technologies and approaches, share the experience of foreign specialists, and use the knowledge they have gained in their professional activities.”
“Today, we got acquainted with the ideas and visions of young people. It is especially important that they are interested in the tourism sector and are already thinking about new opportunities, innovative projects, and startups. Our goal is to create full development opportunities for motivated students and strengthen the generation that will make a significant contribution to the development of both the region and the country in the future,” said Zurab Pataradze.
As part of the program, 25 teachers from the state colleges operating in the region – “New Wave” and “Blacksea” – visited Germany, Croatia, Estonia and Portugal to improve their qualifications and share their experience.
Since 2026, the sub-program has also been extended to students. This year, 10 students – five from the college “Blacksea” and five from the college “New Wave” – ​​were funded within the program. They will participate in a one-month exchange vocational educational program in the field of hospitality and catering at the Valgama State Vocational Training Center in the Republic of Estonia.
The meeting was attended by Member of the Parliament of Georgia Gia Chkonia, Mayor of Kobuleti Municipality, Chairman of the City Council, representatives of the Government of Ajara, local self-government, and heads of vocational schools.
