The first working meeting of the second youth council was held at Akhaltsikhe City Hall. It was held in two stages to discuss the agenda in detail.
The meeting consisted of two stages. In the first stage members got opportunity to know each other. In the middle of work they also learned the working principles of the Council, its duties, responsibilities, goals, and tasks.
Regarding the second stage one of the experienced council members spoke about the journey of the Akhaltsikhe Youth Council and all the projects or activities he participated in during that time.
The meeting hall was full of attendees who wanted to learn about the municipal system’s workings. The participating youth also shared their thoughts with the meeeting organizers.
According to the meeting organizers this is a great opportunity for the youth to share their thoughts with the administration so that they can be implemented in the future as well.
Participating youth also came to know the procedure of the election process of the representative of the municipality.The meeting organizers encouraged the youth to participate in active politics. They said that the role of the youth in local and central politics is very significant.
All the participants of the meeting listened to the key speakers very carefully. On this occasion, the role of the youth was discussed after the full-fledged membership in the European Union.
The meeting organizer and municipal representative also congratulated the youth on the European Council’s grant of candidate status to Georgia. It should be added that there was also a computer-based presentation for all the attendees. This presentation covered various aspects of the municipality’s work.
Finally a team of 18 core and 20 associate members has assembled and vowed to work with great enthusiasm and energy. They also said that the all the ongoing projects will be completed very soon.
