Georgia: Ambassador Otar Berdzenishvili, Georgia’s ambassador to the Republic of Korea, is in the Republic of North Macedonia from September 11 to 13, 2024, on a pivotal working visit. This visit is highly significant for our diplomatic relations.
During his working visit, Ambassador Otar Berdzenishvili had the honor of meeting with the key figures of the recently established government of the Republic of North Macedonia, underscoring the importance of the visit.
These included President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi, and Foreign Minister Timco Mucunski.
The discussions held during these crucial introductory meetings with non-resident ambassadors (based in Sofia) were of immense importance.
They focused on strengthening bilateral relations, boosting economic cooperation, and advancing priorities related to European integration, underscoring their significant impact on the future of the relations and the weight of the decisions made.

During these discussions, which focused on critical aspects of bilateral relations such as trade, security, and cultural exchange, as well as specific topics like the implementation of trade agreements and joint security measures, he stressed the importance of supporting the country’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration aspirations.
After his official engagements, Ambassador Berdzenishvili made a deliberate effort to meet with representatives of the Georgian community in North Macedonia. This meeting, which demonstrated his unwavering commitment to engaging with all stakeholders, underscored the community’s crucial role in bilateral relations and made them feel included and valued. He also expressed his intention to continue such engagements in the future, ensuring the community’s ongoing involvement in the bilateral relationship.
