Skater competitions at the XXV Winter Olympic Games of Milan/Cortina ended with the women’s free program. The last set of medals has been played. Anastasia Gubanova competed for the Georgian national team, which was from the fourth group.
European Championships gold and two silver medals winner Anastasia Gubanova received a rating of 138.22 points from judges in the free program and placed 11th, and in both programs she collected 209.99 points and finally took 9th place, which is the best result of Georgia in women’s singles.
Until now, the best results were Elene Gedvanishvili (Turin-2006) and Anastasia Gubanova (Beijing 2022).
USA representative Alyssa Liu won the championship, and silver and bronze medals were earned by Japanese Kaori Sakamoto and Ami Nakai.

While evaluating the results of Georgian Olympians at the Milan/Cortina Olympic Games, SEOK President Leri Khabelov noted that these games were historic for us: “Before the games we were saying that we had a real chance to win a medal and, of course, we meant Berulava-Metelkina sports couple first.”
He also mentioned, “This expectation of ours has been fulfilled by one hundred percent. Our couple, it could be said, exceeded expectations and took the second stage of the Olympic Quartschlbek in a tough fight against the strongest rivals. Overall, Georgian skaters remained stable in all five disciplines and left the best impression. The XXV Winter Olympic Games will be closed on February 22, 2026, Sunday.”
