Anastasia Gubanova has made country proud by winning silver medal at European Figure Skating Championships. The Georgian skating star gave successful performances on fourth day to grab silver.
The fourth day of competition at the ongoing European Figure Skating Championships was doubly successful for the Georgian team. In the first half of the day, the pair of Anastasia Metelkina and Luka Berulava won the bronze medal. On the other hand, in the evening session, Anastasia Gubanova finished her performance with a silver medal in skating.
It is worth to note that during this visit the leader of the Georgian team, Anastasia Gubanova, received a score of 129.62 points with her excellent performance. This was the the second-best result in the same tournament. The second-best indicator was also found in the sum of the short and free category matches with score (198.61), which brought her a silver medal.
It is noteworthy that the Georgian representative Anastasia Gubanova also finished the 2024 European Championship with a silver medal last year. Moreover, in total this is her third consecutive award along with the gold medal of the 2023 European Championship.
Anastasia Gubanova is steadily performing at the European Championships and other major tournaments. She is one of the best sportspersons of Georgian sports history. The sports experts and senior sportsman said they have great hope that we will see her among the favourites sports achievers at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games.
On January 31, the pair of Diana Davis and Gleb Smolkin performed at the Modaraba Ice Arena in Tallinn. The Georgian players has finished the short performance match with a tenth result (73.82) among 30 participants. At the same time they earned the pass to compete in the free competition.
