Tbilisi: The Government of Georgia, headed by Irakli Garibashvili, has approved the new three-year plan for the delivery of natural gas to the citizens. The move is anticipated to benefit approximately 37000 subscribers in 244 communities within the two years bracket, i.e. from 2022 to 2024, as the Georgian government administration announced on Monday.
The Georgian Gas Transportation Company is planning to spend 135million ($48 million) on the latest round of long-term initiatives. This venture aims to enable the local communities to access the resources that the citizens have been looking forward to for a long time.
Along with this, Prime Minister Garibashvili has also signed a decree that would allow the increased allocation of resources towards infrastructural development for the communities. This would add to the convenience and ease of living for the citizens of Georgia with this access to natural gas.
As per the government administrative bodies, the financial support for this developmental venture will be provided by the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Economy. The spendings have been reflected in the budgets for the year 2022 -2024.
Additionally, the costs of designing and carrying out construction purposes will be funded from state budget allocations for 2023. This is one major step towards the development of Georgia and its citizens.
