The PM emphasized upon the intensity of the efforts required while working with the fuel importers of the country. As per the public perception,the domestic prices of the fuel have been on the rise in contrast to falling international prices of fuel.

Thus, the companies and government have begun to work on stabilizing and reducing the fuel prices in accordance with fluctuations in import costs of fuel.

The Georgian Prime Minister Garibashvili stated about his recommendations to the Competition Agency about launching an inquiry over the fuel importers. The domestic fuel prices haven’t reflected the changes and reductions in the international fuel prices.

Thus, an inquiry into verification of the integrity of the importers along with observing competition and the probable deviations and violations they indulge in.

The Georgian government played an active role in monitoring the prices of fuel in the country by looking into the issue along with the economic team and further looking to provide additional information to the public.
