Batumi: The city has hosted the 11th edition of the International Festival for cameraman “Golden Eye.” Batumi used to host a number of national and international event and it hosted this festival for the second time.
This time the city has again attracted cameramen and photography lovers from across the world making the event a memorable experience for all attendees.
Archil Chikovani, Mayor of Batumi took to his social media handles and shared glimpses of the event. He also thanked all who attended this special event.
The Mayor of Baumi Archil Chikovani on his official Facebook page stated “Batumi is distinguished not only for rich culture but also for the hosting of international festivals. A number of festivals are held here every year, which occupy an important place in the cultural life of our city. Among them is Golden Eye, which is a special event.”
He further stated “I am feeling proud that the city is hosting the Golden Eye event, which is in its eleventh year and is being held in Batumi for the second time. It is worth noting that the role of this festival in terms of motivating and promoting the professional growth of operators and people working in the TV-cinema industry is becoming more and more visible every year.”
Speaking on the occasion the Mayor also added that “Cameraman’s profession is associated with great responsibility and risk. Often they risk their lives so that the public has information about various important events. How we perceive events depends on the cameraman’s vision because they use the shot as a communication language.”
As per the Mayor this annual event confirms the importance of this profession. Many Georgian TV channels, film studios and film companies participated in this yannual festival which is a welcoming development.
While expressing his gratitude to the participants, the Mayor said, I would like to thank the organizers of the Golden Eye festival and the jury and congratulate all the winners. I wish every participant success and progress.
Notably the event is being organized since the last 11 years. The main objective of the festival “Golden Eye” event is to recognize the role of the media especially the cameraman in promoting the rich history and cultures of any region through visuals.
