Batumi, Georgia: In Batumi, the IX International Congress of the Georgian Respiratory Association was held. The event was opened by the Minister of Health, together with Sulkhan Tamazashvili, the chairman of the Adjara government.
The Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons, Labor, Health and Social Welfare of Georgia shared glimpses of the event on its official Facebook Page on June 28, 2025, Saturday. The Ministry also shared some information related to the event along with its photographs.
According to the information shared by the Ministry, it should be noted that the Minister of Health addressed the participants with a welcome speech.
During his speech, Mikheil Sarjveladze spoke about the activities of the respiratory association and its importance. According to the Minister, this professional union and the events organized by it have made a great contribution to the development of the field.
In the Congress, 24 leading scientists from 19 countries of the world participated. The event will include symposiums and presentations on all areas of respiratory medicine: oncology and thoracic surgery, respiratory critical medicine and respiratory infections, tuberculosis and asthma, allergies and chronic lung disease, rare lung disease, and noninvasive diagnostics of lung pathologies.

The event, together with the II International Youth Conference, was organized by the Respiratory Association of Georgia, which was established in 2004 and its aim is to promote the development of respiratory medicine.
