The Batumi Municipal Inspectorate, within the framework of the authority granted by law, continues to take appropriate legal measures against objects illegally placed on the territory of the city.
The Batumi City Hall shared the details of the legal measures against objects illegally placed on the territory of the city on its official Facebook Page on July 2, 2026, Thursday.
At this stage, in the so-called “City of Dreams“, at No. 188 Friedon Khalvashi Avenue, the building is being dismantled to start construction of a new kindergarten.
In the mentioned area, on a land area of 4,667.6 sq.m., a fully adapted kindergarten is planned to be built in accordance with modern standards, serving 300 children. Implementation of the project is important to increase access to preschool care and meet the needs of families who have been waiting for a new kindergarten for years.
Batumi City Hall provided rent to 34 families from the barracks-type settlements located in the construction area.
As for the two remaining families, the government gave them apartments, but they did not vacate the area for the construction of a kindergarten.
For a long period of time, communication and negotiations were conducted with the mentioned two families in order to resolve the issue through mutual agreement. The agreement has not been reached; therefore, based on the procedures set by law and legal basis, the municipal inspection is clearing the territory.
It is worth noting that this particular decision was made only after all possibilities to adjust the matter through the agreement had been exhausted.
It is important for us, on the one hand, to protect the rights of citizens, and on the other hand, to implement social projects that serve the interests of children and their families promptly.
