Paata Gergaia died on August 30, 2024. Paata was not only a good professional but also a good human being and friend. His kindness, patience, and dedication to his students and colleagues will always be remembered.

Paata Gergaia was born on October 12, 1965. He graduated in 1995. His name is Javakhishvili. He received a postgraduate degree from the Faculty of History of Tbilisi State University. In 2006, he defended his PhD thesis on “Georgian anarchist current and its peculiarities.”

Paata worked at various times in the Department of Monument Protection of Georgia, the Ministry of Culture, Monument Protection and Sport, and the State Agency for Religious Affairs, as well as in the newspapers – “Matsne” and “New Georgian Gazeti.”

Since 2018, he has been an affiliate professor of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Caucasus University and has actively contributed to research and educational activities. While studying at the Caucasus University, he authored seven scientific monographs and several articles. Before that, Paata’s work included 60 publicist-analytical articles and three books. His fundamental work “Great Russia” was being prepared for publication.

Paata was distinguished by his unique, sophisticated, original way of thinking and writing. His writings, which delve into the history and political philosophy of national and general humanity issues, are a testament to the depth of his intellectual contributions.

Paata’s death is a profound loss, not only for his family and relatives, but also for the entire Caucasus University community and the Georgian academic space. His absence will be keenly felt, and his contributions will be greatly missed.
