Irakli Chikovani, an MP from the ruling Georgian Dream party of the Republic of Georgia highlighted the role of China in the development of the middle corridor. The middle corridor is the route that will connect central Asia and China to Europe.
He gave this statement on Saturday and said for Georgia to develop the potential of the Middle Corridor, a logistics route connecting Central Asia and China to Europe, China’s participation in this process was necessary, and this will also have a great significance for Georgia.
During his briefing to the media while evaluating a very productive visit of the Georgian Dream party delegation to China Chikovani stressed that both executive and legislative authorities of China appreciated the existing cooperation between the two friendly nations of Georgia and the People’s Republic of China.
He also noted there was a great interest among Chinese people for Georgian products from the private sector of China, adding not only the country’s Government but the business sector should be active in entering China’s huge market to get the benefits.
The Chinese side also expressed on this occasion its readiness not only to increase the quantity of products imported from Georgia but also to expand the list of products to be imported to China, Chikovani emphasised during his address.
It is to be specifically mentioned that Georgia’s significant economic growth is positively perceived by the Chinese side; the MP further said that he was confident that the cooperation with China would further develop in the near future, which would enhance the prosperity of the Georgian people.
Chikovani also stressed that China strategically considered the prospects of this cooperation and the role of Georgia and was ready to collaborate with the country in the future.He also said that this is the time to boost the connectivity to make the relationship better between more and more countries.
