Georgia: The civil (participatory) budgeting elections will be held in Sarmanishviliskar and Sative on April 20-21 and in Ali from April 23 to May 7, 2024.
The project, which has the slogan “Plan your budget,” is implemented within the framework of Khashuri Municipality’s civil budgeting program. The program aims to increase citizens’ involvement in the municipal budget planning stage.
Selected project proposals will be financed from the Khashuri municipal budget. The order of the Mayor of Khashuri Municipality has approved the rules for the project’s administration.
The project ideas that meet the existing criteria have been voted on from the proposals submitted in the first stage. The project proposal that receives the most votes from the local population will be financed from the budget of Khashuri Municipality.
Seventy-six applications have been passed to the quenching stage. Of these, 48 are in the village of Ali, 24 are in the village of Sarmanishviliskari, and 4 are in the village of Sative.
The applications include 11 project ideas, mainly road, recreational, and sports infrastructure management.
In particular, three project ideas have been passed to the voting stage in the village of Ali:
- Asphalt road – (20 applications);
- Arrangement of the road to the school – (16 applications);
- Wrestling hall heating-repair – (12 applications);
- Internal road rehabilitation (concrete pavement and drainage arrangement) – (2 applications) ;
Four project ideas were passed at the voting stage in the village of Sarmanishviliskari:
- Rehabilitation of driveway – (4 applications);
- Concrete road arrangement – (15 applications);
- Square arrangement – (2 applications).
- Mini stadium arrangement – (3 applications).
Four project ideas passed to the voting stage in the village Sative:
Construction of concrete road at the entrance of the village – (1 application);
- Arrangement of borehole – (1 application);
- Arrangement of drainage – (1 application);
- Mini stadium arrangement – (1 application).
Voting in the villages of Sarmanishviliskar and Sative will be carried out by the traditional method—secret voting will be held using ballots, which will enable citizens to support the desired project. Voting will be held from 9 to 18 o’clock in the center of these villages. We ask citizens to have ID documents with them when voting. Electronic voting will be held in village Ali.
Georgian citizens registered in Sarmanishviliskari, Sative, and Ali can vote on project proposals from the age of 18. Each citizen has the right to vote. In addition, we would like to inform you that only citizens registered in the village of Ali can vote for projects presented in Ali, only citizens registered in Sarmanishviliskar can vote for projects submitted in Sartive, and only citizens registered in Sative can vote for projects proposed in Sative.
All votes that do not meet these criteria will be invalidated. The winning projects will be presented in Sative and Sarmanishviliskari until April 25 and in Ali – until May 11.
