Coronavirus: Georgia reports 15,644 new cases with 46 deaths

In Georgia, the health authorities have stated that the country has reported 15,644 new cases of Coronavirus with 24,110 recoveries and 46 fatalities in the last 24 hours. As per the statistics, the positivity for the last two weeks in Georgia stands at 32.01%.

In Georgia, the health authorities have stated that the country has reported 15,644 new cases of Coronavirus with 24,110 recoveries and 46 fatalities in the last 24 hours. As per the statistics, the positivity for the last two weeks in Georgia stands at 32.01%.

There are currently 171,873 active cases of Coronavirus in the country.

According to the figures, in total, 52,912 tests were conducted throughout the country within the past 24 hours. Among them, 32,295 were rapid antigen tests, and the remaining 20,617 were PCR tests.

In addition, since February 26, 2020, Georgia has registered a total of 1,511,800 cases of Coronavirus. Out of 1,511,800 cases of Coronavirus, 1,324,172 individuals have been recovered from the virus, while 15,729 people have succumbed to it.

The new 15,644 cases of Covid-19 were registered in several parts of the country. Tbilisi – 7,574 cases, Adjara – 1,109, Imereti – 2,342 , Kvemo Kartli – 865, Shida Kartli – 946, Guria – 447, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti – 914, Kakheti – 866, Mtskheta-Mtianeti – 334, Samtskhe-Javakheti – 174, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti – 73.

As per the health ministry, as many as 5,876 individuals are undergoing treatment at hospitals, while 164,871 people are undergoing treatment at homes by self-isolation and consulting with their family doctors.

Besides this, 1,259 patients infected with the Coronavirus are in severe condition, out of which 296 are on artificial ventilation.

The Georgian government has also reduced the self-isolation and quarantine period to 5 days for some specific patients employed in some particular government fields.

Moreover, on Tuesday, the government has announced that they have allowed to re-open nightspots from March 5-6 with a maximum of 60%.

Until now, around 33.3% of the total population of Georgia has been fully vaccinated, which accounts for 12.3L people. As of now, around 28.6L doses of vaccine has been administered.
