The Georgian health authorities said that the country has reported 2,783 new cases of COVID-19, with 5,450 recoveries and 32 fatalities in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate for the past two weeks stands at 19.45 per cent.
Overall, there are currently 44,545 active cases of Coronavirus throughout the country.
Moreover, as per the figures given by the health authorities of Georgia, a total of 17,693 tests were conducted throughout the country within the last 24 hours, out of which 14,798 were rapid antigen tests, and the remaining 2,895 were PCR tests.
Since February 26, 2020, the country has recorded a total of 1,629,065 cases of Coronavirus. Out of 1,629,065 cases of COVID-19, a total of 1,568,064 patients have recovered, while 16,430 people have succumbed to it.
The new 2,783 cases of COVID-19 were recorded in several parts of the country.

- Kvemo Kartli – 105 cases
- Shida Kartli – 182 cases
- Guria – 167 cases
- Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti – 218 cases

- Mtskheta-Mtianeti – 78 cases
- Samtskhe-Javakheti – 54 cases
- Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti – 65 cases
The new Omicron variant of Coronavirus accounts for about 85% of confirmed Covid-19 cases.
Furthermore, as of today, there are currently 2,209 patients who are undergoing treatment in hospitals, while 42,336 people are undergoing treatment at home and by consulting their family doctors. There are 607 people who are undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit.
A total of 1,352,226 people have received at least one dose of any vaccine in the country so far, while 1,249,476 individuals have been fully vaccinated, amounting to 43.5 per cent of the country’s adult population.
In total, 225,981 individuals have received booster shots of the vaccine.
As of today, around 33.6% of the total population of Georgia has been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, which accounts for 12.5L of people.
