Tbilisi: The state security service of Georgia provided the information regarding the arrest of Georgian citizens. As per the initial information the Georgian citizens have been arrested by the Russian occupational forces in clear violation of Humantarian laws.
The Georgian agency “the state security service” also took to social media handles They stated on a Facebook post that “ Representatives of Russian occupation forces illegally arrested a Georgian citizen in the occupied territory near the village of Takhtisdziri of Kareli municipality”.
The state security service also said that after receiving the information about his arrest all the measures were adopted to make the make sure the release of the the arrested person.
It is to be added that as soon as the information about the incident was received the “hotline” operated by the European Union surveillance mission was activated by the State Security Service. This is the platform that is used to tackle the emergencies.
Similarly information about another fact of illegal arrest is immediately provided to co-chairs of the Geneva International Discussions and international partners. The agency said that this is a violation of human rights by the Russian occupational forces and the international community must pays special attention to this fact.
The Georgian government agencies are making all efforts to safeguard the interest of arrested persons or other citizens who are in fear of occupational forces. Notably all existing mechanisms have been activated to release illegally detained Georgian citizens within the shortest time.
As per the Georgian government representative the occupation forces of Russia are responsible for all the destructive acts committed in the occupied territories of Georgia as well as along the occupation line.
They also added that Georgia is always prepared to protect the rights of its citizens and will also make the effort to convince the international community to force Russia to respect the rights of Georgian citizens as well.
