Caucasus University: Project “I love Georgian-my state language” ends

The significant project namely “I love Georgian-my state language” was concluded on April 15, at 4 PM. at the Caucasus University campus.

The significant project namely “I love Georgian-my state language” was concluded on April 15, at 4 PM. at the Caucasus University campus. Kakha Shengelia president of the Caucasus University opened the concluding event of the project.

A large number of students and common people were present during the event which was addressed by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Lithuania to Georgia Andrew Kalindra. Andrew Kalindra expressed his hopes the Georgian language will soon become a complete member of the family of European languages.

 The concluding event of the project was also attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sweden to Georgia Anna Lieberg as well as scientists from Sweden, Turkey, different regions of Georgia and other honored guests.

On this occasion the chief organizer of the project Prof. Mariam Manjgaladze stressed the commitment of Caucasus University for the promotion of the Georgian language and culture. Additionally he presented to the public the report of the important events held in the university during the year for the upliftment of the Georgian language.

The “Fan of the Georgian Language” award which was established by the Caucasus University was given to a Swedish linguist namely Professor Karina Vamling of Malmö University. Professor Wamling shared his experience in promoting the Georgian language.

Eter Tataraidze’s new poetry collection “When I Go to Tao-Klarjet” was launched to the public. This was launched by Prof. Mariam Manjgaladze. Poet, researcher, and folklorist Eter Tataraidze. Notably this book was published with the support of the President of Georgia Mrs. Salome Zurabishvili.

Similarly the screening of the documentary film “Salute to Tiflis” took place on the sidelines of the concluding event whose authors are Dea Badzaghua and Nanuka Kokhodze. Academician Mzekala Shanidze addresses the student through video conference.

The Students and entrants who took part in different activities and participated in the “Language, Culture, Society” student scientific conference, spelling competition, and quiz were awarded certificates.

Moreover the winners of this competition also received educational vouchers of different amounts 2,000, 1,500, and 1,000 GEL respectively.  

The folklore ensemble of Caucasus University performed Georgian folk songs at the end of the event.The following are the supporters of the project “I love Georgian – my state language”:
