In Georgia, the Health Ministry said that the country has reported 1,053 new cases of COVID-19, with 2,067 recoveries and 7 fatalities in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate for the past two weeks stands at 7.19 per cent.
Overall, there are currently 25,013 active cases of Coronavirus all over the country.
According to reports, Georgia has the 13th highest Covid mortality rate globally in a week. Armenia comes to 64th and Azerbaijan – 75th.
Moreover, as per the figures given by the Georgian health department, a total of 21,614 tests were conducted all over the country within the last 24 hours, out of which 19,284 were rapid antigen tests, and the remaining 2,330 were PCR tests.
Since February 26, 2020, the country has recorded a total of 1,643,295 cases of Coronavirus. Out of 1,643,295 cases of COVID-19, a total of 1,601,578 patients have recovered, while 16,678 people have succumbed to it.
The new 1,053 cases of COVID-19 were recorded in several parts of the country.

The new Omicron variant of Coronavirus accounts for the majority of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the country.
Furthermore, there are currently 766 patients who are undergoing treatment in hospitals, while 24,247 people are undergoing treatment at home and by consulting their family doctors. There are 208 people who are undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit.
As many as 1,356,735 people have received at least one dose of any vaccine in the country so far, while 1,253,736 individuals have been fully vaccinated, amounting to 43.5 % of the country’s adult population.
A total of 232,573 individuals have received booster shots or 3rd dose of the vaccine.
