The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture David Songulashvili hosted a meeting with the members of the wine show “V is for Vino” filming group on April 19, 2025, Saturday.
The National Wine Agency of Georgia posted the glimpses of the meeting on its official Facebook page along with a small note about the meeting.
According to the Agency’s note, it should be noted that the wine show “V is for Vino” is one of the most popular wine shows in the USA.
The representatives of the media are preparing a wide story about Georgian wine, which at the end of the year, “V is for Vino” will be posted on all platforms – official page, social media channels, cable TV channel – ReachTV and more than 90 airports across the United States.
The Minister of environmental protection and agriculture stated, “In recent years, Georgian wine exports in the USA have been steadily growing.”
According to him the production of targeted marketing campaigns for the United States market is especially necessary to increase the popularity of Georgian wine.
“I am glad that, in cooperation with the National Wine Agency, “V is for Vino” has worked in Georgia in this direction and after intensive filming throughout the country, through all its platforms, the US population will learn about Georgian wine culture,” David Songhulashvili added.
Furthermore, it should be mentioned that the members of the movie crew went to wine cellars located around Georgia. The work process was fairly intriguing and productive, as was discussed at the meeting.
As per the information provided by the agency, it was also mentioned that the tale about Georgian wine would be known to hundreds of thousands of viewers, which offers another chance to bolster Georgian wine’s standing in the US market.
The film crew of the wine show “V is for Vino” spent a week in Georgia as part of the marketing campaign that was organized in the United States by the National Wine Agency and the agency contractor that was backed by the American marketing firm “Colangelo & Partners.”
It should be noted that the USA represents one of the strategic export markets of Georgian wine, where the National Wine Agency has been carrying out targeted marketing activities since 2013.
In recent years, with the initiative of the National Wine Agency, advertising campaigns with influential media outlets such as CBS, CNN, “The New York Times”, “Wine Enthusiast”, which has led to the growth of Georgian wine sales in the United States.
Notably, In 2024 exports reached a historic high of 1.2 million liters, which is 32% higher than the index of 2023.
