Telavi, Georgia: The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, David Songulashvili, was in the village of Kurdegelauri of Telavi municipality on May 9, 2025. He got acquainted with the process of “cold cheese” in the factory.
The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia shared the glimpses of the Minister’s visit on its Official Facebook page. The Ministry also shared a small note about the process of “cold cheese” in the factory.
The cheese enterprise is a beneficiary of the state project “Discounted Agrocredit”, the agro loan is 500,000 GEL. The company, which processes 1 ton of milk per day, produces various types of cheese and sells its products in local markets and exports to the United States. The company employs 10 people.
David Songulashvili met with small cheese producers, where he talked about the challenges in the field.
The Minister talked about the importance of state support and the results achieved to promote the growth of Georgian agricultural industries and noted that Georgian quality products are actively found in both local and international markets, which is the basis of the main goal – strengthening the economy and the welfare of the population.
David Songulashvili emphasized that with several projects, the state supports the production of Georgian quality, safe products. The Rural Development Agency has been implementing the “Concession Agrocredit Project” for more than 10 years.
Objectives of the Project
The main objectives of the project are
- to provide cheap, long-term, and affordable funding for farmers and agribusinesses,
- to improve the enterprise processes for agricultural primary production, processing, and storage.
Along with the minister, the State Trustee of Kakheti side Giorgi Aladashvili, the Chairman of the Regional Politics and Self-Governance Committee, Irakli Kadagishvili, and the Director of the Rural Development Agency, Giorgi, remained present in the company.
