The Deputy Minister of Environment and Agriculture, Solomon Pavliashvili, participated in the international summit dedicated to the technologies of asphalt modified by rubber.
The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia shared the glimpses of the international summit on its official Facebook Page on March 17, 2026, Tuesday. The Georgian Agricultural Ministry also shared a small note about the meeting, along with its glimpses.
The summit discussed modern approaches to road construction and innovative technologies, which ensure long-term durability of infrastructure, economic efficiency, and environmental sustainability.
Chairman and members of the board of the internationally recognized organization “Rubberized Asphalt Foundation” shared with the participants of the event their many years of experience in research, development, and implementation of rubberized asphalt technologies.
Solomon Pavliashvili noted during his speech at the event that the implementation of such technologies in Georgia is the most important thing in terms of encouraging the circular economy. The circular economy is a priority of Georgia’s environmental policy.
“A few years ago, we created a model – ‘Extended Manufacturer’s Obligation‘, one of the regulations of which is specifically about the management of waste tires. This is an important challenge that can only be overcome by manufacturing asphalt modified with rubber. Georgia has defined a consistent waste management policy. We have a waste management code, strategy, and national plan. “In this value chain, the most important thing today is strengthening the recycling cycle, which this project will definitely contribute to,” said Solomon Pavliashvili, and insisted that any green initiative, which will also contribute to strengthening the economy, will always have government support.
